The seven teams competing in the Fiji FA Senior Women’s League Southern Zone received a timely boost in the form of football equipment last week.
Fiji FA Vice-President and women’s chairman Susan Wise said the equipment is expected to assist each of the teams to perform to the best of their ability in the competition, which got underway last Saturday.
“Fiji FA is fully committed to the development of women’s football in the country,” Wise said.
“With this equipment we would like to see the teams coming up more organised.”
Wise said already there has been evidence of improvement on last year’s competition.
“We kicked off the women’s league last weekend and there is a huge improvement visible in the teams,” she said.
“With this equipment the team will be able to train hard and come more prepared.”
The equipment supplied to the seven teams included ten balls, two ball bags, bibs, whistles and a stop watch.
