OFC is looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and passionate Competitions and Event Manager to join our team, based at the Home of Football, Te Kahu o’ Kiwa in Auckland, New Zealand.

About the role:

At OFC, we are implementing a new strategy to collectively achieve our vision for football in the Pacific: qualifying two competitive teams for the FIFA World Cups in 2026 and 2027.

As the Competitions and Event Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Plan, organise, and deliver OFC international competitions and related events to meet expected standards.
  • Develop and enhance capability within Member Associations in areas such as competition management, event management, and match day operations.
  • Oversee and develop:
    • OFC Competitions strategy, strategic plans, and operational plans.
    • OFC Competitions departmental budgets and financial reports.
    • OFC’s international match and competitions calendars.

Skills and experience: 

  • 5 years relevant experience in sport or recreation, with an understanding of not-for-profit organisations is a plus.
  • A relevant bachelor’s degree qualification, or the equivalent relevant experience, which may be the five years’ experience in sport or recreation described above.
  • Proven track records in successfully managing international events and projects preferably within the sport sector.
  • Sound knowledge of FIFA and OFC Statutes (and applications).
  • Sound knowledge of the operations structure of OFC and its Member Associations.
  • Experience with database management and associated software.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with a proactive and flexible attitude.
  • Project Management skills and effective planning skills including the development of strategies.
  • An understanding of the Oceania region, its people and cultures is desirable
