Tahiti suffered a 3-0 defeat to Group A rivals Senegal in their opening match at the FIFA U-20 World Cup Poland 2019 at Lublin Stadium.
It took less than 10 seconds for the Africans to take the lead courtesy of forward Amadou Sagna whose goal has entered the record books as the fastest in the history of the competition.
Senegal doubled their advantage inside 30 minutes with Sagna on target again, before the 19-old striker completed his hat-trick in the 5oth minute to secure all three points and a perfect start to his side.
Tahiti will be hoping to get their tournament back on track on May 26 when they face hosts Poland, who lost to Colombia 2-0 on in their group opener.
Senegal and Colombia will face each other on the same day.
