Following a strong domestic season, Fiji’s Ba Women’s are ready to stamp their mark on the OFC Women’s Champions League in Tahiti.
Ba Women FC will feature in their first overseas tournament and are excited to showcase their skills on the big stage. Head coach Charlene Lockington says preparations have been a success, and the team is looking forward to heading to Tahiti.
“Preparations have been great. The weather hasn’t been on our side but we’re really looking forward to coming to Tahiti.
“The girls are excited, and our preparations have been good.”
The team qualified for the OFC Women’s Champions League after clinching a 1-0 victory against the Labasa Women in Fiji’s Women’s Super League final and Lockington says fans will see an exciting brand of football played at the tournament.
“We’re coming with speed and quickness. We can slow the pace down when we need to.
“Just wait and see us play.”
Lockington says for some of the women, it will be their first time heading overseas to play football and she thanked the families of the team for supporting their journey to Tahiti.
“It’s something new for the girls, and it’s the first time for the club to go out abroad.
“Thank you to the OFC for the opportunity, Fiji football for the support and our girls’ families for supporting them to come overseas.”
