OFC U-20 Championship 1994
The tenth edition of the OFC U-20 Championship took place in 1994 and doubled as qualification for the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship™ in Qatar. The tournament was held in Fiji for the fourth time and was contested between eight nations.
Australia and New Zealand emerged unbeaten from their groups with Solomon Islands and Vanuatu finishing as runners up. In the semifinals the Solomon Islands were blown away by Australia 11-0, while Vanuatu were narrowly beaten 1-0 by New Zealand. In the final, Australia beat their rivals once again, to clinch a seventh OFC U-20 Championship title.
For the third consecutive edition, Australia qualified for the knockout stages at the 1995 FIFA World Youth Championship™ in Qatar. A 2-0 victory against Costa Rica in the opening match and a 1-1 draw against Germany was enough to advance as runners-up in the group. Their run would come to heartbreaking end in the quarter-finals, losing 2-1 to Portugal after extra-time.
