OFC U-20 Championship 1974

The 1974 OFC U-20 Championship, now known as the OFC U-19 Championship, was hosted in Tahiti. It was the first age-group competition established by OFC and was contested between four nations after Fiji withdrew due to lack of funds, while Taiwan weren’t able to get visas.

New Zealand cruised through the group stages with comfortable victories against New Caledonia, Vanuatu and the hosts. However, Tahiti shocked the New Zealand in the final claiming a 2-0 victory to claim the inaugural OFC U-20 Championship title in Papeete.
