The eighth edition of the OFC U-19 Women’s Championship took place in 2017 and doubled as qualification for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup™ in France.

The age-limit for the tournament was lowered back to under-19 from under-20, and was held in Auckland, New Zealand, with all matches played at Ngahue Reserve.

New Zealand cruised to a sixth consecutive OFC U-19 Women’s Championship title again, winning all five of their matches by at least a six-goal margin.

New Zealand was pitted in Group A alongside hosts France, the Netherlands, and Ghana at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. They lost all three Group matches but pushed the Netherlands, conceding a late goal tom lose 2-1.
