The Oceania Football Confederation will have 1.5 slots for the FIFA World Cup as of the 2026 edition after the slot allocation was approved by the FIFA Council during its meeting in Manama, Bahrain.
The council has endorsed the proposal recommended by the Bureau of the Council which includes an intercontinental play-off tournament involving six teams to decide the last two FIFA World Cup berths.
