OFC has assisted the Vanuatu Football Federation’s Social Responsibility team to deliver psychosocial support response (PSS) to children affected by the devastating 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Port Vila on 17 December.

Emergency Response team leaders Prisca Virelala & Danicka, Myriam Malao, Annie Naviti and Annie Gere worked tirelessly to provide much-needed support to children in Port Vila during this challenging time and most importantly during the festive season.

Players from several football clubs got involved in the relief effort including players from Shefa Women’s Football League (Street 21 FC, Penama FC, Saint Joseph FC.

The VFF Social Responsibility team has thanked OFC and UNICEF for their funding support, which made the emergency response programme possible.

“The contribution has made a significant impact on the emotional well-being of children affected by the disaster. Together, through our collective efforts, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our children, aiding them in their healing and recovery from the trauma they have endured. Your compassion and dedication to helping those in need are truly commendable, and we are immensely grateful for all that you do. Thank you for your unwavering support and commitment,” the VFF Social Responsibility team said.
