OFC Club Championship 2001
The third edition of the OFC Club Championship was held in 2001 and was contested between the league champions of all eleven OFC members.
The competing clubs were split between two groups, one featuring six and the other featuring five, with the top two sides in each group then progressing to the semi-finals. Australian champions Wollongong Wolves, New Zealand champions Napier City Rovers, Vanuatuan champions Tafea FC, and Tahitian champions AS Venus progressed through the group stage to qualify for the semi-finals hosted at the Lloyd Robson Stadium in Port Moresby.
Wollongong Wolves edged AS Venus in the first semi-final, before Tafea FC shocked Napier City Rovers by the same scoreline in the second to progress to the final. For the third consecutive event an Australian club won the title, with Scott Chipperfield’s second half strike proving decisive as Wollongon Wolves beat Tafea FC to win the OFC Club Championship
