WHO ARE WE?

Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is the umbrella organisation of the national Football Associations within Oceania.  Located at St Johns in Auckland, New Zealand, OFC supports 11 Member Associations and two Associate Member Associations strategically, financially, and logistically through tailored programmes.

OFC is one of the world’s six Football Confederations and is an active participant within the FIFA Football community.  The positive, collaborative team environment at OFC aims to leave a legacy in the region, providing positive experiences in sport and life.

OFC is charged with the task of developing, servicing, and administering Football in the Oceania region whilst using the game to promote social development.  Our vision is to raise the overall standard of Football in Oceania and utilise its power to help promote education, community development, capacity building, health awareness, cultural exchange, and economic development.

The Opportunity:

WHO ARE WE AFTER?

This is an exciting opportunity in the sports and recreation sector and you will be pivotal in supporting the OFC Education & High-Performance Department to provide excellent service to the Member Associations.  This role can be undertaken remotely (work from home) but successful candidates must have the ability to travel across the Pacific region.

As the High-Performance consultant, you will primarily be responsible for:

Planning and Capacity Building

Supporting Members Associations to:

  • Develop a philosophy and strategy to identify and support players of potential
  • Cultivate high-performing cultures and environments that place wellbeing at the centre
  • Create detailed plans for high-performance programmes, including areas for physical, wellbeing and technical development

Programme Development

Increase Member Association’s capacity to:

  • Deliver appropriate and consistent youth development programmes for female and male players aged 13 years and older
  • Implement effective and sustainable National Academies for female & male players aged 16-19 years old
  • Organise and fulfil international fixtures for U16 & U19 National Teams, including attending OFC Tournaments

National Teams

Supporting Members Associations to:

  • Identify, recommend and develop suitable, committed, and qualified staff for National teams
  • Identify and arrange opportunities for National Team fixtures, in country and abroad
  • Support coach development through FIFA, OFC, and other programmes for high-performance coaches

Skills and experience:

You must have a minimum of three years’ experience in high-performance environments and working at National League or National Team level plus;

  • Strong knowledge of high-performance systems and coaching
  • Strategic and operational planning
  • Ability to empower others to achieve goals consistently over time
  • A professional, positive, flexible, and diplomatic response to problem solving
  • Tertiary qualifications to the equivalent of university level and above in a relevant subject
  • OFC A Licence, or Confederation equivalent, is preferred but the highest level of qualification from other sports will be considered
