Fiji and Samoa are set to host two of the biggest youth competitions on the 2020 Oceania football calendar.

The two nations were confirmed as hosts of the OFC U-16 and U-19 Championships respectively, during the OFC Executive Committee meeting held in Auckland, New Zealand this week.

Fiji most recently hosted the OFC Olympic Qualifiers in 2019 across two venues in Suva and Lautoka. Meanwhile Samoa’s Tuanaimato headquarters were completely refurbished for the XVI Pacific Games in 2019 making them an ideal location for this upcoming event.

The finalists of the OFC U-19 Championship in July will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup scheduled for Indonesia in 2021.

The finalists of the OFC U-16 Championship in September will earn themselves tickets to the FIFA U-17 World Cup which is scheduled to take place in Peru in 2021.
