The Fédération Tahitienne de Football hopes to see more women involved in all aspects of football management and adminstration following a FIFA Women’s Football Course held in Papeete recently.

Nantes-based FIFA Instructor Etienne Marechal made the voyage to share his expertise with 19 participants gathering to learn more from the marketing expert.

Marechal began by presenting on FIFA’s strategy for the development of women’s football before handing the floor to FTF Technical Director Patrice Flaccadori and Celine Haapuea, FTF Women’s Football Development Officer, who gave an insight into the current state of the women’s game in Tahiti.

With a greater understanding of the landscape that women’s football is operating within in French Polynesia, Marechal was able to streamline his presentations to address the specific needs of the region covering a variety of themes including marketing, communication, sponsorship and leadership.

On their return to their clubs, committees and sporting associations, each of the 19 participants are now equipped to continue developing women’s football across French Polynesia.
