The Football Federation Samoa (FFS) has appointed Faumuina Margaret Crichton as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ushering in a new era of leadership for Samoan football.

Known as Polly, Faumuina brings over 15 years of experience in sports administration and leadership across the private sector and Samoa Government. A former national representative in both football and hockey, she has deep roots in the local sports community and is now set to steer the Federation’s strategic direction, ensuring football development at all levels.

“As a former footballer, I spent years watching from afar while living in the UK, always wishing I could be in Samoa, helping develop the next generation of players,” Faumuina shared. “Now that I’m back, I’m committed to working alongside the Board, stakeholders, clubs, players, and communities to build a stronger, more inclusive, and successful future for Samoan football.”

FFS President Sam Petaia is excited about Faumuina’s appointment, highlighting the value of her leadership, vision, and passion.

“Her background as a former National Rep, combined with her corporate expertise in both the public and private sectors, will be instrumental in driving football forward in Samoa,” said Petaia.

Faumuina steps into the role at a pivotal moment for the Federation, which is actively involved in major infrastructure projects, player development initiatives, and the coordination of national teams competing across the region. With Samoa’s first-ever FIFA World Cup tournament on the horizon, (The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup) her experience and leadership will be invaluable.
