The knockout stage of the OFC Champions League 2019 have been drawn with four fascinating  showdowns install when Oceania’s premier international club competition returns April.

Held at the OFC Academy In Auckland, New Zealand this morning, the official draw has  outlined the road ahead for the remaining eight teams, including the quarter final and semi-final match up as well the final for this year’s competition.

OFC Competitions Director Chris Kemp was delighted with the outcome of the draw and following four thrilling group stages he remained confident that fans across the Pacific are in for more excitement during the knockout stage.

“We’ve already seen fantastic interest and engagement from fans during the group stage and we believe the level of enthusiasm will only increase during the next phase,’ he said.

“The draw threw up some enticing encounters and we anticipate some keenly contested matches, we really look forward to the resumption of this great competition in early April,” Kemp added.

Group B winners AS Central Sport from Tahiti will host Group D runners up AS Magenta from New Caledonia in a highly anticipated francophone derby in the first quarter final.

Nine-time champions Auckland City, who topped Group D will welcome Papua New Guinea’s  Group B runners-up Lae City FC in quarter final two, while Fijian giants Ba FC who qualified as the second team from group C will travel to Kone to face Group A winners Hiengehene Sport from New Caledonia.

The final match up will see defending champions Team Wellington, winners of Group C  entertaining Group B runners up Henderson Eels from the Solomon Islands

Looking further into the competition the draw has also determined that the winner of the quarter final between Hienghene Sport and Ba FC will host the first semi-final against the winner of the contest between Team Wellington and Henderson Eels.

Meanhile, the second semi-final will be staged either in Tahiti or New Caledonia with the winner of the match between AS Central Sport and AS Magenta hosting the winner of the Auckland City versus Lae City FC clash.

The final will also be a one off contest hosted by the winner of the second semi-final in the middle of May.
