Clansey, long-time national team understudy to goalkeeper Jenny Bindon, is close to securing a dream move to Liverpool in the FAWSL.
The lifelong Reds fan, who has just completed a title-winning season with Canberra United in Australia’s W-League, is thrilled about the potential move which she hoped would be finalised next week.
“It’s a really good feeling and it’s kind of scary at the same time because Liverpool are such a huge club,” she says.
“It’s going to be an honour, and I’m looking forward to the experience and the hard work I’m going to have to put in.”
Meanwhile, fullback Anna Green is hoping to join a host of Football Ferns compatriots now plying their trade in Germany’s Frauen Bundesliga.
The Palmerston North native has flown to Germany and could soon be lining up for Lokomotive Leipzig against the likes of New Zealand team mates Rebecca Smith, Katie Hoyle, Ria Percival, Sarah Gregorius and Amber Hearn in Europe’s toughest women’s league.
