The Port Vila Women’s Football League winners proved too strong for their Santo-based counterparts at Luganville Soccer City Stadium in Santo.
It was the first time the league had been run with the final bringing together the winners of their respective leagues, with fans filling the stadium in Santo.
Saturday’s proceedings opened with a friendly match between Vanuatu’s OFC U-20 Women’s Championship-bound national side against a Luganville invitational team before the grand-final kicked off in the afternoon.
“It was the first time we have flown two teams from Port Vila to Sato for the final and I must thank OFC and FIFA for their continuous support,” VFF women’s football development officer Joel Rarua said following the matches.
