Olympique will have their work cut out for them despite taking crowning honours in the national league, with Saturday’s opponent FC Ferrand hurting after failing to defend the double they earned in the 2013 season.
On Olympique’s side is the fact that they remain undefeated in 2014 which will certainly create a sense of concern in the FC Ferrand camp.
Coach William Bret is keen to see his side complete a perfect season with the cup the final piece to add to the trophy cabinet.
FC Ferrand coach Daniel Kausuo is aware that his opponents are on course to end the season undefeated but is keen to be the side that ends their dream run.
“It’s true that Olympique have won everything this year,” he admits.
“We are going to try and save our season with the Cup, because we are conscious that we didn’t live up to our own standards in the Championship.”
Fourth place in the Super Ligue was difficult for the team to comprehend following the highs of the double in 2013.
“We are more than motivated for this final. We’re going to defend our title against what is currently the best futsal team in New Caledonia right now.”
