Waikato Stadium hosted Match Day Five of the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Sunday and over 4,100 spectators turned up to witness a memorable day.

In the opening match Paraguay took a shock lead against the USA before the pre-tournament favourites scored three second half goals to get their campaign on track.

In the second match Japan put on a breathtaking display of fluid passing, off ball movement and silky smooth skills to thrash European heavyweights France 7-1 and send a warning to the rest of the tournament – that it is theirs to lose.
