Takaro who is the deputy principal of Central School in Port Vila for the last seven years, resigned from teaching last month and took over the management of the football Academy this week.
Vanuatu Football President Lambert Maltock said it is a great to see someone like Peter to step down from teaching and work for football.
“I have a lot of respect for Peter Takaro and on behalf of all football family in Vanuatu, I welcomed him on board.
“I thank him for accepting the offer to be the Academy Manager as you know more funds from FIFA came to develop the academy so we really need a good manager.
“I also thank the Vanuatu Government for their continuous support to the beautiful game of football.
“We now have four well trained teachers working with Vanuatu Football and this is a very good news for football family.
“Education is sports and a sport is education. The two organisations must work together to develop our selected young footballers to another level that is why we have the four teachers working full time with VFF now,” said Lambert Maltock, president of VFF.
The new three are teachers are Peter Takaro, George Kalo and Vidal Tanemeulip.
“Being appointed The Academy manager is a real honour for me as it is highly regarded as thre best and only football academy in Vanuatu.” Said Peter Takaro.
“I am sure that the Teouma Football Academy is the best in the country and we must look after the facilities well.”
“The Academy has a great team already and I’m enjoying working with them. The venue, building and equipment is first-class and I’m relishing the opportunity this role will give me.” Said the new football academy manager, Peter Takaro.
