The festival will take place at Victoria Park in Avarua from 2.30pm, with activities open for all children aged between five and 13.
Cook Islands Just Play manager Michelle Paiti says the festival has an important role to play.
“The festivals are educating and encouraging for all children, and provide them with a positive and safe environment to be physically active in,” Paiti says.
“At the same time it helps them to learn to respect each other, accept our differences and protect each other.
“We are really looking forward to hosting this event and are expecting a big turn out from local children.”
Key social messages will be delivered as part of the festival, with a focus on health, gender, inclusion and care.
Universal Children’s Day was established in 1954 and is celebrated on November 20 each year to promote international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide.
