The group is led by President Dr Muhammed Shams-Ud-Dean Sahu Khan and he will be joined by chief executive officer Bob Kumar and senior vice-president Dr Hari Kewal.

The delegation will also be attending the FIFA-OFC congress.

“The world cup will coincide with the FIFA congress,” President Sahu Khan says.
Selecting the three representatives was a fairly straightforward process.
“It has been a norm for the general secretariat of any FIFA affiliate to be part of the delegation and in this case it is Bob Kumar. The late Mr. J.D. Maharaj in his time was also part of the delegation.”
President Sahu Khan will stay for the entire event and has another job to perform, aside from his duties at the congress.
“The other two members will attend the congress and watch the first two games while I will stay there for the remainder of the tournament as the deputy chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee,” he says. “I’m looking forward to my role.”

Vice-president Rajesh Patel will also be present.

“He is going to the world cup, not as part of the Fiji FA delegation but with the FIFA finance committee and will be attending the FIFA international audit congress meeting.”

Fiji FA has backed Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) member New Zealand and fellow Pacific country Australia to excel during the biggest football event on the planet.

“I think Australia and New Zealand will both give a good performance at the tournament. New Zealand, as one would know, are part of the OFC and, while Australia are part of the Asia region, they are still our neighbours.”

President Sahu Khan and Rajesh Patel leave for South Africa today while Bob Kumar and Hari Kewal will depart on Sunday.
