The Suva-based broadcaster today launched its online Pay Per View platform and will market the tournament to online viewers in North America, Australia, UnitedKingdom, New Zealand and parts of the Pacific.

The Fiji FACT tournament was first held in Ba in 1991 and has become an integral part of the football calendar. As Fiji’s premier Cup competition, the 2011 edition includes 27 matches and promises plenty of action.

“We are thrilled to be part of this exciting project,” said Mr. Shailendra Prasad, Vodafone Manager Corporate Affairs.
“Mai TV has taken a giant leap forward in global streaming with the Vodafone Fiji FACT being the launch pad for paid content exports from Fiji.”

The online streaming will be available on the Mai TV homepage where users outside Fiji pay USD$19.95 through a secured Canadian-based server to access all matches of the tournament.
Fiji viewers will be able to watch the tournament by using their MPAiSA account to transfer FJD$29.00.

“Our people have been working tirelessly to ensure this is a success,” said Mai TV CEO Richard Broadbridge.
“We invested heavily into internet protocol type projects in 2009 and slowly most of these are coming to fruition. We are happy to be assisting Fiji achieve its goals by giving people better access to the many events held locally.”

Mai TV says all customers need to first ensure they have at least 1mbps dedicated internet speed before paying for the tournament.
