Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has produced the O-League highlights for the first time and distributed the footage to all OFC broadcast partners via Television New Zealand’s Pacific Services.
This represents the first of six highlights packages that will be made available for football fans over the course of the current O-League season.
The one-hour show includes action and colour aplenty from defending champions Auckland City FC’s impressive campaign-opening 5-0 win over Tahiti’s AS Manu Ura, the passion and tension from Tafea FC’s 3-3 home draw in Port Vila against Hekari United FC (PNG) and finally the upset of the round as Solomon Island club champions Marist FC were stunned 1-3 by Fiji’s Lautoka.
Due to a venue rescheduling in New Caledonia, the AS Magenta vs. Waitakere United first round match unfortunately could not be included.
OFC has signed agreements with broadcasters in almost all of the participating nations to ensure maximum television coverage of the competition including highlights, full match replays and live coverage where possible.
The round one highlights have gone to air in New Zealand this week and other countries are expected to follow suit.
The coverage is a product of a ground-breaking broadcast agreement between OFC and Triangle and Stratos Television that was signed last month.
For scheduling information check local listings.
