Tafuna Jets, last year’s defending champs for the women, got off to a rocky start and are currently sixth in the standings out of seven competing teams.
In the men’s competition last year they started off with futsal but had to move the game outdoors due to the unavailability of the Samoana High School gymnasium with Utulei Youth eventually winning. They got off to a rocky start as well and are currently No. 8 in the 13-team, round robin contest.
“I know our senior players have been itching to get back to the field but because of our U-19 competition at the beginning of the year we had to hold off this tournament,” explained FFAS President, Faiivae Iuli Alex Godinet.
