Hearn laid on goals in the 32nd and 35th minutes for Sylvia Arnold and Lisa Seiler respectively as the Frauen Bundesliga club seized control of the tie against lower-league opposition and ran out to a 4-0 halftime lead.
Hearn earned her side a 54th-minute penalty, converted by Carolin Schiewe, for Jena’s sixth goal and then netted the eighth herself as Jena warmed up for next weekend’s Frauen Budesliga opener against Rebecca Smith’s Wolfsburg.
Smith sat out a club friendly against Dutch side Enschede on Saturday through injury.
There could be as many as six Kiwis involved when the German league kicks off next weekend with Sarah Gregorius and Katie Hoyle at Bad Neuenahr, Ria Percival at Frankfurt and former international Hannah Bromley at Herfoder.
Meanwhile, Hayley Moorwood netted her first goal for Chelsea in a narrow 3-2 loss to English Super League leaders Birmingham City, while Emma Kete has recovered from a hamstring injury and recently made her Lincoln Ladies debut as a second-half substitute in a 4-2 win over Liverpool.
Kirsty Yallop made her first outing for Vittsjo, playing 88 minutes as her new club won 3-1 against Eskilstuna to stay on top of the Swedish first division and in line for promotion.
Ali Riley continued her fine form in the American WPS, with her return from the FIFA Women’s World Cup coinciding with a seven-match unbeaten run for the Western New York Flash that has taken them to the league’s minor premiership and earned Riley a nomination for defender of the year.
The minor premiership, sealed with a 2-0 win over the Atlanta Beat, earns the Flash automatic entry to the WPS Championship game on August 27.
