Aspden, a current New Zealand Football board member and former interim CEO in 2013, assumes the role until the organisation’s annual Congress in June 2015 when a new chairman will be elected.
Moran’s appointment as interim chairman came in February this year after former chair Frank van Hattum stepped down from the role in January.
Moran, who has guided the organisation through a rules and statutes review which will be voted on at the 2014 Congress later this month, will continue in his role of chairman of the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup Local Organising Committee.
