Labasa had scooped the title in 2012 and 2013 and had their sights set on a third straight title until a late Sonali Rao goal denied the defending champions the glory.
Maria Lewavuni handed Ba an early lead but Labasa found the equaliser just ahead of half-time through Selai Naito.
The action see-sawed throughout the second period as both sides sought the winner, with Ba eventually winning out courtesy of Rao’s late goal allowing the home side to snatch the Women’s IDC title from their opponents.
Ba manager Dale Ting said his side had its sight firmly set on the IDC crown.
“We trained two sessions a day and the girls sacrificed a lot of their time,” she says.
Fiji FA women’s football director Susan Wise says the Women’s IDC has set a high standard for women’s football in the nation.
“This year’s event was a very competitive one and we could see that the teams had come prepared,” she says.
“This is what is needed if women’s football is to progress and I would like to thank all the participating teams, as well as congratulate Ba on their victory.”
It is Ba’s second big win of 2014 after they took out the Rooster Women’s League earlier in the year.
