Goals to Abbu Zaid and Patrick Sarwan in the first half put 4R in a commanding position, before a third just a minute into the second half from Avinesh Warran put the result beyond doubt.
It was the third time 4R have won the NCC, adding to their titles gained in 2011 and 2012.
4R Electrical president Rynel Kumar says the way his side conducted themselves on and off the field was admirable.
“We came here to win and I am glad the boys delivered in style,” Kumar says.
“The way the team played across all of their matches was very impressive, and this win is special as it is the third time we have won the NCC title.
“We also thank City United for their achievements and for giving us a good fight in the final.”
For City United – who were recently promoted to the Super Premier grade in the Lautoka Football Association competition – it was an historic occasion as well, as they battled through to the final in their first year competing in the NCC.
Coach John Williams remained optimistic post-match despite falling one step short of their ultimate goal.
“We are satisfied despite the loss and I thank the boys for their effort,” he says.
“Our players have shown they can match it with any club in Fiji and we will work hard to do better next year.”
