In what will be a massive three days of finals football, the Besta FA Cup is sponsored by International Food Cooperation under the brand name ‘Besta’.
The action will get underway with six men’s teams and four women’s team from the four regions who qualified for the semi-finals.
Southern Region will have Koupa 2 and Koupa 3 for the men while women will be represented by PMSA. The Momase region will see the big guns Madang and LFA for the men’s and Lahi for the women.
Madang has qualified as the runner-up for the Momase region after the Momase Regional Body has found some technical irregularities with the participation of Momase champion Situm Soccer Association in the Momase Regional leg of Besta FA Cup.
Highlands will be represented by Hagen men and Goroka women while in the New Guinea Islands will have defending champion Manus men and Kavieng Town Soccer Association women (KTSA).
Winners of the semi-finals in both men and women will proceed on to the grand finals on 31st of October 2015 with Manus men looking to retain their champion tag title for the second time in a row.
PMSA women who clinched the title in 2013 and failed to participate in last year’s finals are now looking to bring the women’s title back to POM this year.
All semi-final matches will be played in both the Lae Football Association Park and Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium while the grand-final will played at Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
PNGFA General Secretary Dimirit Mileng said, the finals date has been moved forward due to the unavailability of the IKS on the earlier announce dates.
He said, all the teams who are qualified for the finals are ask to prepare your travel arrangements prior to the date announced.
