The remaining six teams include defending champions Hekari United, FC Port Moresby, Admirality FC, Besta PNG United FC, Oro FC and Madang FC – who are making their return to the competition following a five-year absence.
The Oro Provincial Government has joined forces with their counterparts, Manus and Madang Provincial Governments, in getting behind their local sides.
With the announcement of the seven competing sides also comes the draws and venues with Port Moresby, Lae and Madang to play host to the competition, scheduled to kick-off on 17 January.
The reigning champions Hekari United asked for special consideration from the board in regards to the draw, with the side set to compete in the 2015 OFC Champions League.
Hekari manager Vonnie Kappi Natto pointed out that the Champions League is expected to once again take place in April, ruling her side out of the domestic competition for at least two weeks.
The NSL final is expected to by played on 17 and 25 May, before the 2015 Pacific Games get underway in Port Moresby.
NSL chairman Isaac Lupari says the board is looking forward to a successful season of football, and thanked the clubs for their involvment in the competition.
