The agreement was revealed to FFA Media by Pillay Garments managing director Narendra Pillay during the CvC jersey launch at the FFA headquarters in Suva today.
Pillay says the company is pleased to be associated with the series for yet another year. Navua, Ba and Lautoka will be part of the 2010 CvC competition.
“We are very pleased to once again assist Fiji FA. CvC is a special tournament which is close to our hearts and in fact this will be the 10th year of sponsorship. We look forward in continuing the support in the years to come,” said Pillay.
“I have supported Ba over the years and I think with the inclusion of a third team this will make the competition stronger. CvC competition over the years has assisted in the development of soccer in Fiji and Pillay Garments family hopes that our contribution further assists.”
FFA Chief Executive Officer Bob Kumar says the CvC prize money will be finalized this Sunday during the Fiji FA Board of Control (BOC) meeting.
“Pillay Garments has allocated $16,000.00 for the CvC. We are very thankful for their support. The prize money sum will be decided on Sunday by the BOC. The CvC winning team will be awarded with a trophy and gold medal while runner up silver medal,” the CEO said.
The 2010 Pillay Garments CvC will officially launch the Fiji FA 2010 season. Courts Homecenters Inter District Champions (IDC) Navua will battle hosts Lautoka at 3:00pm at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
This match is a repeat of the 2009 IDC final.
