NAUTI – The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) Youth Festival in Noumea grows closer with every sleep for the children of 20 schools lucky enough to have the opportunity of playing against teams from all over OFC.
Nauti Primary School will bring over a squad of 14 players and three assistants to Stade Pentecost and Stade Numa Daly to make new friends, meet world famous stars such as Christian Karembeu and Zinedine Zidane – and dream of qualifying for the Danone Nations Cup 2009.
Nauti Primary School come from Tuvalu, formerly know as the Ellice Islands.Tuvalu is a Polynesian island nation located in the Pacific Ocean midway between Hawaii and Australia.
Its nearest neighbours are Kiribati, Samoa and Fiji. Tuvalu is comprised of four reef islands and five true atolls with a gross land area of just 26 square kilometers. It is the third-least populated independent country in the world, with only Vatican City and Nauru having fewer inhabitants.
It is also the second-smallest member by population of the United Nations. In terms of physical land size, Tuvalu is the fourth smallest country in the world, larger only than the Vatican City, Monaco and Nauru.
The squad of young boys and girls will kick of the tournament on 28 May where they will be competing against 20 other teams from around the region
