The four semi-finalists of that tournament also gained qualification for the FIFA U-20 World Cup with the successful teams being Myanmar, Qatar, Uzbekistan and Korea DPR.
Qatar’s qualification continues their rising status in the world game, following on the heels of their senior side’s recent victory over Australia.
Coach Felix Sanchez Bar said: “Today is the day to enjoy this achievement; it is a dream for the players. I am so happy we are into the semi-finals and also qualified for the FIFA U-20 World Cup New Zealand 2015”.
Myanmar have been AFC U-19 Champions seven times with Korea DPR securing themselves three titles most recently in 2006 and 2010.
The AFC U-19 final will be contested on 23rd October (local time) between Qatar and Korea DPR who defeated Myanmar and Uzbekistan respectively in their semi-finals.
