A penalty goal from Hekari Souths number 17 Kema Jack was enough to secure the Papua New Guinean champions a 1-0 victory over Koloale FC in Port Moresby on Saturday and keep their O-League chances alive.

The goal came in the 35th minute and Hekari held onto the lead despite finishing the game with only 10 men. Cyril Muta received his marching orders in the 87th minute after receiving two yellow cards in the second spell.

The win has left Hekari at the top of Group B with six points but Koloale and Fiji’s Ba are both just two points behind with a game in hand. Hekari can only progress to the final if the two sides draw in their final group match scheduled for 28 March in Honiara.
