As the holders of the Inter-District Cup Suva will take on National Football League winners Nadi in the much anticipated opener to the 2016/17 season of Fiji football.
The first leg of the series will be played in the capital at ANZ Stadium tomorrow night at 7pm, with the retutn leg taking place on Sunday 7 Februray at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
Fiji Football Association CEO Bob KUmar believes the opening event of the season marks a promising start to the new season.
“The Pillay Garments CVC will officially kick-off the 2016/17 season. The current top two teams in the country will be participating and that in itself should make things interesting for fans to see who comes out on top,” Kumar says.
“We have a very busy season ahead of us and the Champion vs. Champion series should set a perfect platform for the remainder of the season.”
Neither Suva nor Nadi have won the CVC title since the inception of the competition in 1993.
