OFC Auckland: The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has appointed the match officials for the opening Stage 1 Nations Cup/World Cup group qualifying tournaments in the Solomon Islands and Samoa from 10-19 May 2004.

Mohammed Yusuf of Fiji has been appointed the Match Commissioner for Group 1 in the Solomon Islands with his countryman Hari Naicker appointed the Referee Inspector. Over in Samoa, New Zealand’s Bob Patterson has been appointed Match Commissioner for Group 2 with Barry Such of Australia appointed the Referee Inspector.

Match Officials have been allocated to the two group tournaments according to their nationality. No match officials have been appointed to a group which involves their national team as is usual policy. All the appointed Match Officials have officiated in previous OFC competitions and their experience will be counted on for this important qualifying tournament which will find the four qualifying teams to progress to Stage 2 in Adelaide, Australia from 29 May – 6 June 2004.
