Waitakere United has dug out a 3-2 win over the Port Vila Sharks in Vanuatu this afternoon to go top equal with Auckland City in Group A of the 2009 O-League.
It took a 75th minute winner from captain Danny Hay to secure the three points but the one goal margin was not enough to catch Auckland City on goal difference which means Waitakere will have to win their final group match at home to progress to the O-League final.
Port Vila were unlucky not to hold the defending champions to a draw and secure their first points of the 2009 O-League season. It was a marked turn around from their record 8-1 loss to Auckland City on Match Day Three.
