On March 16 the U-12 and U-15 divisions got underway with 11 teams participating in the U-12 division which features a 7 v 7 format on a 25m x 40m. The teams play 20 minutes per half with two games per day except for teams with a bye.
The U-15 division also features 11 teams who use full-size goals on a half-pitch with nine players on each side playing 30 minute halves.
Both divisions are set to hold their grand finals on 18 May and players who have performed well throughout the league will be selected to form four teams of ten players to compete in a new Representative Competition the Football Federation Samoa is looking to launch.
The idea of the new competition is to develop young players in preparation of their rise to national teams and will include both boys and girls.
The Representative Competition will start on 25 May, with the finals scheduled for 22 June for the U-15 girls, while the U-12 girls will begin on 11 May with the final set for 8 June.
Following this competition, players will be separated into two age group categories to progress either to the Development Centre for players between ten and 12 years old, or the Centre of Excellence for 13 to 15-year-olds.
