CJ Patel Group has come on board to assist Fiji FA, signing a two year deal which is worth $300,000. The Fiji FA sanctioned competition will be called the Fiji Sun Weet Bix National Football League.

Over the next two years, around $200,000 will be pumped into the super premier and senior division while $100,000 will be used for the Fiji FA U-16 and U-19 Youth League competition.

Taking over from previous sponsor New World, CJ Patel Group will also back the Battle of the Giants competition which is the second major tournament in the Fiji FA calendar. General Manager Pranil Singh says the group is pleased to get behind Fiji FA.

“Today marks a special day for us as we step up our marketing by joining hands with Fiji Football Association. We will not only provide financial support but our marketing expertise as we move with Fiji Football to bring the sport to the people,” Singh said.

Fiji FA President Dr. Muhammed Shams-Ud-Dean Sahu Khan thanked the new sponsor, saying it is a timely boost for Fiji FA.

“Fiji FA will not be able to survive unless we have sponsors who support us and CJ Group of companies has come onboard with a tremendous sponsorship. We will now also have the U-16 and U-19 Youth League where over 800 players will be participating,” Dr. Sahu Khan said.

The 2010 competition kicks off this Friday 7pm at Churchill Park. Defending champions Lautoka take on Nadi which will officially launch the new season.
