All ten participating teams played two rounds of games on 4 May and will continue to do so throughout the month-long competition.
While two other sides, the Black Roses and Kiwi Soccers, also started the season strong winning both their games on Saturday, the Jets victories were completed in more dominant fashion as they beat PanSa 6-0 and Ilaoa & To’omata 7-0 to take them into the lead with a 13-0 goal difference total.
The Black Roses, champions in many forms of the women’s game locally, got off to a slow start in their first match against Pago Youth but recovered to post a 3-0 victory before beating Green Bay 5-1 to stay in second place.
Kiwi Soccers, also finished the first round with two wins to earn six points after edging out Utulei Youth 1-0 and winning against Lion Heart 5-0.
Four other teams collected three points by the end of the day and by order of goal differential, they are— Utulei Youth (4), Atu’u Broncos (0), Pago Youth (-2) and Green Bay (-3).
At the end of Round Nine, the top four teams will advance through to the play-offs.
