Elia Kaudre in action during AS Magenta's 2-0 win over ACB Poya in the New Caledonia Super Ligue

New Caledonia; JS Baco, AS Mont Dore and AS Magenta retained their 100% win records in the latest round of Super Ligue action in New Caledonia last
weekend. JS Baco were made to fight hard for top spot, however, after edging out AS Lossi 3-2 in a dramatic encounter at the Stade Numa Daly.

AS Lossi contributed much to an exciting encounter with the Division One and Coupe de Caledonie holders unlucky to finish the match without a victory. Pierre Wajoka and
Luther Wahnyamalla were the star men in a pulsating fixture that left JS Baco in top spot and AS Lossi in 7th place yet to record their first win in the top flight.

AS Magenta skipper Michel Hmae fends off a challenge from an ACB Poya defender during a 2-0 victory

Meanwhile, AS Mont Dore continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-1 win over AS Thio Sports. Mont Dore – beaten Coupe de Caledonie finalists earlier this
year – were simply too sharp for an AS Thio Sports team struggling to find consistency.

New Caledonia international and AS Mont Dore stalwart – Patrick Diake – was in good form for AS Mont Dore and will be a key figure when his club face off against JS Baco
in the fight for top spot.

Vakoume in action during the second round of matches in the New Caledonia Super Ligue

Elsewhere AS Magenta enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win over ACB Poya with Magenta skipper Michel Hmae in good form. Magenta – runners-up to Sydney FC at the OFC Club
Championship – Tahiti 2005 – will be keen to improve on last season’s performances that included a 6-2 semi-final hammering at the hands of AS Lossi in the Coupe de Caledonie.

AS Lossi’s 3-2 defeat against JS Baco won’t have alarm bells ringing just yet for the Super Ligue newboys. Both losses have come against the top two teams in the
competition and AS Lossi showed in both matches they will be more than a handful for other teams.

FC Gaitcha moved into mid-table after a 2-1 win over AS Temala, the result leaving both clubs level on points and goal difference.

Next weekend throws up some mouthwatering encounters with JS Baco playing AS Mont Dore in the fight for top spot, AS Lossi seeking their first win against the
unpredictable AS Temala, Bottom-placed ACB Poya meeting a resurgent FC Gaitcha and AS Thio Sport playing AS Magenta in a match Michel Hmae and his team may view as the ideal chance to sneak into
top spot with Baco and Mont Dore meeting head-to-head.
