The attacking midfielder turned out for domestic champions Solomon Warriors in 2014, making quite the impression with his vast array of tricks and turns.
When his club failed to qualify for their third consecutive appearance, the interest in engaging the national futsal representative’s skills increased.
2014 OFC Champions League runners-up Amicale FC have come up trumps in the chase to sign Lea’alafa and are just waiting on confirmation of the International Transfer Certificate.
“I am here to help Amicale achieve success in Vanuatu and Fiji,” the 23-year-old says.
“Four clubs in Oceania have shown interest in me but I think Amicale is the best club for me to play with in the Champions League.
“I am looking forward to meeting the players in training and wish to thank the club president Andrew Leong and his management for inviting me to Vanuatu.”
Lea’alafa isn’t the only Solomon Islander registering on Vanuatu radars.
His Solomon Warriors teammate Gibson Daudau looks set for a move to Amicale’s domestic rivals Tafea FC who will also be heading to Fiji.
Joses Nawo could also be heading for Tafea, for whom he was a key part of the set-up during the 2014 campaign.
He returned home to Solomon Islands to help Western United to the S-League title but may yet return to Vanuatu for the Champions League proper come April.
