Nelsen, who captains English Premier League team Blackburn Rovers, had previously indicated his desire to play against Honduras in Auckland on October 9 and Paraguay in Wellington on October 12 but has now confirmed he will make the trip home.
“I’m going to come back and play,” Nelsen told LiveSPORT.
“I have always wanted to come back. You’ve just got to play a bit of a political game with the club but that’s sorted and it’s all good.”
Tickets for the two matches went on public sale on Wednesday, with New Zealand Football expecting both venues to sell out.
Tickets are available from Ticketek (www.ticketek.co.nz) with group bookings available by calling Auckland 09 307 5058 or Wellington 04 384 3842.
