TEFANA ROLL ON AS PIRAE DROP POINTS IN D1 CHAMPIONNAT

AS Tefana maintained their perfect record in the Tahitian D1 Championnat this week with a comprehensive 7-0 win over Ace JT.

AS Dragon kept close on their heels at the top of the table with a 5-0 win over AS Excelsior while AS Pirae lost some ground with a 1-1 stalemate against AS TAC.

AS Dragon 5 – 0 AS Excelsior (3-0)

After a cagey opening 20 minutes AS Dragon gained control of the match through some tidy possession football and swift attacks. Christian Shan Sei Fan opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a clinical finish from close range.

AS Dragon killed the game off soon after when two goals in the space of five minutes through Jeremy Dubois and Area Resopawero made it 3-0 just before halftime.

Dragon started the second half as they finished the first and Samuel Hnanyine made no mistake from long range when he smashed home their fourth goal in the 51st minute.

Raimana Li Fung Kuee completed the rout in the 90th minute after squeezing home from an acute angle.

Dragon stay in second place with the win, and keeps the pressure on league leaders AS Tefana.

AS JT 0 – 7 AS Tefana (0-3)

AS Tefana maintained their irresistible form in the D1 Championnat with a 7-0 win over eight placed AS JT.

The result looked inevitable from the eight minute when Rino Moretta opened the scoring from the penalty spot. Goals to Tetiamana Marmouyet, Rino Moretta, Temarii Tinorua, Taufa Neuffer, Maroarii Andreucci and Rene Atrewe complete the win and a really comprehensive victory.

It is the sixth win in a row for Tefana who are in devastating form at the moment.

AS TAC 1 – 1 AS Pirae (1-0)

After suffering a heartbreaking defeat last weekend at the hands of Manu Ura, AS TAC were determined to get a result from the side who sit three places above them on the table.

TAC got off to a perfect start when Rainui Moreau opened the scoring in the 8th minute for the home side.

Both sides had good opportunities to score in the first half but some brilliant goalkeeping kept the score locked at 1-0 at halftime.

Hiro Labaste finally gave Pirae some joy when he leveled the scores in the 70th minute and sent both sides home with a share of the spoils.
