Here’s what he has to say about the Pacific Youth & Sports Conference (PYASC).
“For some of us this is the first time to New Zealand and to attend such a big gathering. So just being here and meeting so many people is exciting.
“The issues being talked about are not new to us in the Solomon Islands but how we address them is new. I’ve learned a lot hearing from the other countries, particularly the presentation given by Niue.
“One pressing issue in the Solomon Islands is unemployment. When youths don’t have anything to engage themselves in then they get into criminal activities. I’ve spent time being unemployed in the past and it isn’t easy.
“So we are trying to brainstorm how to address this issue. We have some ideas for a project and will be working out the details over the next couple of days.”
