Ve’ehala was first elected to the role of president in 1994 and has held the position since then, becoming the longest serving president in the association’s history.
Since coming on board, TFA has become a full member of FIFA, opened headquarters in Nuku’alofa and a branch office on Vava’u.
During his tenure, through the FIFA Goal Project Programme, Tonga has added an academy building, technical faciltities, an international standard pitch and dormitory, with the latest project resulting in the construction of a conference hall and futsal court.
“I wish to thank you, all the representatives of all football clubs in Tonga, for your kind contribution to our AGM today,” Ve’ehala said following the meeting.
“I would also like to thank you for putting your trust in me so I can continue being your president. We now look forward to the tasks ahead of us in order for football to elevate in all areas.”
Ve’ehala will be joined on the Executive Committee by senior vice-president Paula Mau and vice-president Sitiveni Palavi.
The ordinary members of the Executive Committee are Fetu’u Vea, Lady Robyn Tu’ivakano, Tevita Moala, Fiji Ta’ai, Reverend Sikaiona Vakatapu, Mosese Mafi and Suliasi Vivili.
The newly elected TFA Executive Committee will serve a four year term from 2015 to 2019.
