OFC U-20 CHAMPIONSHIP TAHITI 2008 – NEW ZEALAND vs. FIJI (FINAL SCORE 3-0)

New Zealand have shot to the top of the group at the OFC U-20 Championship in Tahiti after scoring a convincing 3-0 win over Fiji in the opening match of the tournament.

In blistering hot conditions New Zealand scored two second half goals in the space of six minutes to take control of the fixture before adding a third with three minutes left on the clock.

Wellington Phoenix duo Costa Barbarouses and Greg Draper scored goals for New Zealand either side of a Adam McGeorge strike.

The final match of the day between Tahiti and New Caledonia is up next

58 minutes – GOAL FOR NEW ZEALAND – 1-0 – Costa Barbarouses opens the scoring for the kiwis.

64 minutes – GOAL FOR NEW ZEALAND – 2-0 – Adam McGeorge doubles the kiwis lead.

87 minutes – GOAL FOR NEW ZEALAND – 3-0 – Greg Draper makes sure of the result with another goal for New Zealand.
