Roux’s new contract will see him remain with the Mariners until the completion of the 2016/17 A-League season.
“I had such a great time in my first season and am happy to extend my stay,” Roux says.
“I love the boys and am really looking forward to next season. My focus for the next few seasons will be winning things with the Mariners – whether it’s the Hyundai A-League or the Westfield FFA Cup.”
Roux is one of three players – including midfielder Anthony Caceres and attacker Mitchell Duke – who have resigned with the club and coach Phil Moss says retaining three of the team’s top talents is in line with his and the club’s strategy to develop exciting young players.
“Since day one the Mariners have worked hard to develop young players, and our record of grooming talent was best exemplified throughout Australia’s recent FIFA World Cup campaign when no less than four former Central Coast players took to the field for the Socceroos,” Moss says.
“We view Anthony, Mitchell and Storm as key members of our squad, and know that each has a lot of development left in their game.
“With the staff, facililities and culture we will provide them here at the Mariners each player understands they will be in an environment where they can progress personally, and help us as a club achieve continued success on the pitch.”
