Amicale face a difficult challenge with Busaiteen their third match in just six days after they lost 4-1 to Waitakere United in a friendly last week before they glided past Fiji U-20 on Monday evening.
Technical Director Anthony Pisano says Busaiteen will be a difficult match.
“Busaiteen are a fulltime professional club and to be honest there’s not a lot of information available on them.
“We will be consolidating and recovering tomorrow (today) and doing as much home work as we can. But we will focus on our own game and we will take the match with Busaiteen as it comes,” he says.
A draw would be a massive lift for Amicale but leave them hoping Fiji U-20 can limit the Bahrainis’ to a narrow defeat and sneak through to the final on goal difference.
A victory would send Amicale through to Sunday evening’s final.
In a clash between tournament minnows, Singapore U-23 take on Cayman Islands Bodden Town.
Singapore, beaten 4-0 by Auckland City FC in their first game, struggled in the winter-like conditions and may view Bodden as the ideal opportunity to register their first win.
But knowing just what to expect from the Caribbean outfit is a mystery to coach Subramani Shummugham although he is adamant where his team needs to improve.
“We don’t know much about Bodden Town yet. I hope we can give them a good fight and hopefully we can win this game to finish 3rd or 4th in the tournament. Our main target is to try to stop them from getting crosses into our box,” he says.
Skipper Adam Swandi was disappointed to lose to Auckland City FC but remains determined to rectify Singapore U-23’s losing start to the tournament.
“I think the spirit of our team will be high and we will all do our best to win the game and get the three points. The game against Auckland City has made us stronger individually and as a team,” he says.
Bodden Town – who travelled 14,000km via Miami just to reach Auckland – had travel issues with half their squad stranded in the USA as they awaited visa clearance.
